Hi! I was born Pamela Joy Morse and raised on Forest Service Ranger Stations. My dad is a retired Fire Control Officer for the Forest Service and my mom currently works in the Supervisions Office for the Forest Service in Roseburg. My childhood was spent living in Tiller, Oregon from the ages of 6-10 then we moved to Toketee Falls, Oregon and I lived there until I graduated from Glide High School. I have 3 sisters, Sheila, Jackie and Holly. I always wanted a brother but he probably would have been a pain, so I put up with 3 sisters. I was the second daughter. My favorite things in school were gymnastics, student counsel and choir. I took piano lessons for awhile, but never got the hang of it. I was a terrible reader and an even worse speller, but I was GREAT in penmanship. Always got an A in that class. I hated PE because I was never as good as everyone else. I grew up going to Youth Group and Sunday School in the gymnasium of our school. There were no churches on the Ranger Stations so our parents taught us. At the age of 17 I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. I had a lot of questions and a very strong opinion. You see I had gotten a hold of an anti-Mormon book and had thought that is what the church was about. The friend that introduced me to the LDS religion was very patient and although I wanted to fight with her about what I knew and what she was saying, she never did. She would say to me "when you are ready to listen I will tell you". It was a couple of months before I was willing to listen to what she had to say, but when I did I knew that what she was saying was true. At the age of 18 I became a convert to the church and was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. This has been an important step in my life for it has paved the path that I have taken. I have gone through many joys and disappointments in my lifetime. I was blessed with 3 wonderful children. Michael who is 24, Kyle 23 and Amanda who is 19. Having the beliefs that I do in the Lord, where we came from and why we are here, has made the trip bearable. In 1992 I went through a painful divorce that I did not want. I had three young children to care for at the time, then 11, 10 and 6. When you go through a divorce, trauma or any life changing event, it is common to give up and say I don't want this and I want everything to change. The feeling of fight or flight goes through your mind. I wanted to be a bad girl because I was so hurt but my religious beliefs just would not let me do anything that was wrong. Now 8 years later I am thankful for the strong testimony I had and the strength to know that all I am going through is only a small part of the whole picture. Today I have a WONDERFUL, loving husband, Steven and with him I got a vibrant and active 11year old red head by the name of Taylor. Oh and Lucy (the black lab came with the group). Today Mike, Taylor, Steven and I call Eugene our home. We all attend church together as a family and hold callings in our ward. Steven and I sing in our ward choir and Mike attends the Singles Ward at the University. We love singing Karaoke while the kids covers their ears. We have a lot of fun at our house singing songs and playing games together.
